Reading for writing

I’ve just finished a reread of If Andy Warhol Had A Girlfriend, a book about the modern art world with an English guy, a girl with a horrible job, and the backdrop of London, Rome, Chicago and New York.  With all those elements, it can’t go wrong for me.  I’m doing all this rereading in order to study my favorite books and help understand what makes them so good to me.  Other books on my list are Coffee and Kung Fu, Pride and Prejudice, and Outlander.  I’m looking for confident female characters that have fallen into trouble with their hearts, their families and or their jobs.
